SQUIRM show re-cap 12.19.10

The last SQUIRM show of 2010 (with Evie, Dom, Linda and Elle) was performed at The Living Theatre 12.19.10. The improvised blues was was the "Tahiti ~ Joe Namath ~ Etch A Sketch" Blues and contained scenes of Skippy trying to have some quiet time ~Sugartime for Sugarbabies children's pageant ~ Joe Namath in the locker room with a banana and a gun ~ 1987 in Da Bronx with Aqua Net ~ Fred going for the Guiness Book of World Records for pacing ~ Santa is not what the kids expected ~ Marissa scares her elderly father after her Mother was killed by circus elephants ~ Mindy and Maura meet Broadway Joe in front of the Emerald Green Pub ~ A Guardian Angel ~ Celestial Seasonings newest flavors demo by Bellzy Bubb ~ An adobo pusher to the them of Axel F ~ Guppy Troupe the greatest bowler ever ~ Broadway Babies on Sugar ~ The Easter Bunny meets Santa ~

SQUIRM's most recent show was Sunday, November 21, 2010 @ The Living Theatre - L.E.S.
The improvised blues song was the “Sedona ~ Christopher Walken ~ Tofurky Blues" and scenes included: A mother and daughter at a spa with 5lb weight loss goal ~ Doris and Larry web dating ~ Starbucks the dancer, she uses a prop ~ An inspector who discovers that a very clean man has contaminated the food in the kitchen with all purpose windex ~ Theodore and his fiance - she does things for herself, except for some things, then she needs his assistance - PG-13! ~ A slo motion keep away game that results in a shooting ~
A job interview at Hits R Us gone wrong ~ Christopher Walken and Jay Leno visit a Starbucks (and later on, Charlie Sheen and David Letterman visit the same Starbucks!)
~Tommy the gamer who has the biggest stride in the east - why was there a table on the football field? ~ something grows in a water bottle at the spa ~ Starbucks returns as a show stopper - no really, she stopped the show when she freaked out that everyone was watching her, and she ran out of dance moves - Leo the Director had to come on stage to rescue her ~ Christopher Walken talks a midget to (near) death ~ A keep away game with
apparitions in slow motion
~ Kindle-Schmindle ~ This tofurky is da bomb...much better than the pernil made of platanos.

SQUIRM show re-cap 7.24.10 “Son of a witch!”

SQUIRM's most recent show was Saturday, 7/24, 2010 @ The Creek & The Cave in Long Island City. The improvised blues song was the “Mackinaw ~ Mel Gibson ~ Martini Blues" and scenes included: A phone call to break up with Debbie because she smelled like cheese ~ A streamer filled bar with a pulsating mutant olive on the floor that has a fit of rage ~ Moving Mom from Long Island to Oakland, on the back of the car ~ Restaurant workers with clean hands and dirty mouths – son of a mother father! ~ @ the Tard Park Playground, the arrival of the King of the Playground ~ A nursing home that only shows Mel Gibson movies on the 3D TV ~ Tard Jazz Trio ~ A strange visit from Father who hated cell phones in life but communicates from beyond through a cell phone “ You can talk to the dead with the iphone 4” ~ The hairy, pulsating olive has a fit of passion to the tune of Endless Love ~ Nurse at the Nursing Home breaks the news that the TV movie loop is now set to show only all Pauly Shore movies ~ Mom arrives in Oakland and changes her accent ~ The cleanest cooks in the world continue to wash hands instead of making burgers, when suddenly the Health Inspector shows up to check how clean their pores are…..son of a witch!

The improvised blues song was the "Corpus Christi ~ Mike Tyson ~ Summer Rolls Blues" and scenes included: Eating Coconut Bananas in very hot Corpus Christi ~ Tickets to a Mike Tyson fight, luckily he hasn't fought or bitten a man's ear in 15 years, cut to Mike biting someone ~ The weight of the world on one man's shoulders ~ Billy Bob and Bobby Billy: get offa my ranch ~ Getting 'friendly' with a bull ~ Racial stereotypes on tv ~ gratuitous drinking/smoking/strip club scene ~ 333 baby (1/2 way to hell) ~ Surgery gone wrong ~Birthing of a baby during the World Cup ~ a crazy cabbie and crazy dispatcher ~ Working at a gas es-station fulfilling the American dream ~ "In a world with no television... people must learn to communicate with one another......"

SQUIRM's most recent show was Saturday, 5/22, 2010 @ The Creek & The Cave in Long Island City. We did a 30 minute set with the guest performer Silas Brown, and the return of Elle!
The improvised blues song was the "Thailand ~ Britney Spears ~ Cabbage/Nacho Blues" and scenes included: Cars and troublemakers ~ a back ground actor nervously awaits the arrival of Michael Bay ~ A mother tries to kill her own son for the insurance ~ Boy lady/ lady boy dancer in Thailand entertains the American tourists: dances Russian, Salsa-merengue (Dominican style) and Native American native dancing mating call ~ Don Paco the famous blind delivery man/chef he makes the best nachos with prawns, chili, cheese, more cheese, cole slaw, and salsa ~ a special bra-fitting with a magic mirror and a slip that makes you feel 20 pounds thinner ~ Cat Transaction Dancers prepare for Britney Spears concert ~ chevzaze, chevzaze
flevovich dancers get lectured by cigar chompin' rehearsal room manager
~ Agnes enjoys spaghetti and meatballs until she learns it was her mother's "specimen" that she was going to take to the doctor ~ Siamese twins and Siamese twins with creepy voices "Two of us! Two of us!" ~ Ese caught the blindness in the right eye gotta get out of South Central ~ Clint Eastwood (or is it?) helps depressed kid to find his voice ~ Paco's Tacos Nachos cause the senorita to be unable to oculate (yes, we made it a verb) but the whole scene gets busted up by the cigar chompin stage manager....

SQUIRM's most recent show was Saturday, 4/24, 2010 @ The Creek & The Cave in Long Island City. We did a 30 minute set.
The improvised blues song was the "The Vermont – Derek Jeter – Pina Colada Blues" and even though 80% of the stage lights went out during the first minute of the show, we SQUIRMED on featuring scenes of: Jeanine (or Jeanette) can't see, doctor has found the cure in a little purple pill, Jeanine happens to be color blind (then the stage lights came back on!)~ People who come all the way from Vermont to see Derek Jeter’s nice buns and a Pina Colada vendor $12 each ~ A guy who couldn’t get out of a rut sadly let go from the Dairy Queen on the corner ~ A Smart Car on the way to Maine with a hitchhiker who asks if the car has “air pillows” ~ Commercial break from Smith’s Airbags – Call 1-800-Smith-Airbag ~ Margarita the Pina Colada vendor from Jankee Stadium upset because everyone just keeps asking her to “show her tits” Paco says, "I don't understand why this is a problem at the Jankee stadium, you show your tits all the time everywhere else, at the family parties, family reunions…..and even Grandpa’s funeral…. ~ Jeanine/Jeanette confuses Dr. Singer with Dr. Singh and is covered in tattoos. ~ another commercial break: "Has identity theft or identity mis-identification ever happened to you? Call us at 1-800-Smith Lawyers." ~ Jeanine/Jeanette eventually gets her sight back.

We did a 30 minute set.
The improvised blues song based on audience suggestions was the "The Punta Cana (D.R.) ~ Paris Hilton ~ Hot dog Blues" and featured scenes of A giant Parakeet on steroids in Central Park ~ Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie (drooled at) in a boutique ~ A hot dog vendor who fingers a Boston fan as a terrorist and a baseball fan at Yankee Stadium who when asked if she was a Boston fan said "I would spit all over myself if I was" ~ a restaurant that served Live Clams over milk and tofu with a little bit of chives ~ A guy who kept pointing the spot "This is where she fell" to a slow cop who is really retired, but never took his uniform off ~ A hog wild scene riding hogs ~ The ghost of the girl who fell wanting a latte ~ Paris and Nicole borrow the cell phone of Lauren Bacall in order to call Lionel Richie ~ The giant parakeet in Central Park steals the gun off of Officer Sullivan....CALL FOR BACK UP!!!

The improvised blues song was the "The Aruba ~ Jennifer Aniston (on skis) ~ Tiramisu Blues" and featured scenes of A Father who wouldn't watch his daughter dance ~ A couple putting up a basketball net for their kid on Staten Island ~ Joy in my eye! ~ Jennifer Aniston at a ski lodge requesting that there be no John Mayer music in her room and no films with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie or Vince Vaughn available on the pay per view ~ The worst establishment on an American road trip: Maria Conchitas Little Hamburger Tiramisu Shack with terrible service and a cook who only knows how to make Cheeseburgers ~ a janitor who was verklempt and verstressed ~ a Divorce decision settled by a basketball shoot out ~ No Divorce for gay couples parade/protest with the Governor/Mayor of Portland ~ THE HAPPY DANCE song (and dance by Betsy) ~ Jesus with long hair who uses Pantene products, but being around Betsy, his heart exploded - and the reprise of the Happy Dance as the lights faded....

SQUIRM show of 1.23.10 RECAP

SQUIRM's most recent show was Saturday, 1/23, 2010 @ The Creek in Long Island City.We did a 30 minute set, and had guest performer Christopher Boerger.
The improvised blues song was the "The Northern Canada ~ Jennifer Aniston ~ Tiramisu Blues" and featured scenes of A giant pot of pasta that took two people to stir as we prepared for a party of 300 people, and a gigantic colander ~ Jose the Janitor putting in too much overtime when sweeping the floor ~ a trip to Mexico City and skipping in Rome ~ Mr. Smith the ‘child molester’ teacher who claims he ‘invented math’, used the word ‘primitive’, and kept staring out the door at Mrs. Smith in the the classroom across the hall ~ and some very interesting job interviews for AMC movie theatres which involved reverse nepotism (the manager kept firing his son) and revealed the level of dedication an AMC employee must have: to wear the red vest, get an AMC tattoo on their shoulder and be willing to not speak with their family for two weeks….one candidate claimed to have several degrees including chemistry and an MBA, yet was asked “Yes, but can you butter popcorn?"
